Obituary of Louie H. Cuebas

Louie H. Cuebas of Monroe Township, New Jersey passed away peacefully on July 10, 2020, from congestive heart failure, at the age of 75. He was surrounded by his immediate family.

Louie was born on January 21, 1945 to Felix and Francisca Robles Cuebas and raised in New York City. He was born into a large and loving Hispanic family. He was one of 5 sons and had one younger sister.

In 1967, (when he was 22 years old), he enlisted in the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War, for 2 years. Louie was a quiet and humble man. He never spoke of his time during the Vietnam War. It was only after his passing and upon reading his United States Army Military Discharge Papers, that his family discovered that Louie was a decorated veteran. He earned 5 medals for his bravery and service to his country during the Vietnam War. His family is especially proud of his service to our country.

Louie worked as a printing services technician for Goldman Sachs, Inc. in New York City. He retired from Goldman Sachs after over 20 years of service with company. He was an avid bowler and a member of several bowling leagues throughout his life. He enjoyed competing in bowling tournaments.

Louie was married to his love, Catherine “Cathy” Torres for over 30 years before her passing in 2005, from cancer. He missed her dearly. His family takes comfort in knowing that he’s at peace, with his beloved Cathy, in heaven.

He was predeceased by his siblings Felix, Ismael and Yolanda.

Louie leaves behind his son Louis Cuebas, of Raleigh, North Carolina. He is survived by his brothers William and Samuel Cuebas and their wives Carmela and Daphne, two sisters in law: Silvia and Maria Cuebas along with numerous nieces and nephews he will be miss in our hearts. George Cuebas.
